How to prepare for your personalised Her Inner Light session
Your portrait session will be around 2 hours, held outdoors in natural light. We’ll move with the environment and your energy, so comfort and ease are key.
To help keep the focus on your expression and presence, here’s a simple styling guide:
Clothing
Keep it simple: Plain tops work best. Stick to black and white as it help the light and contrast do their magic.
Avoid patterns or graphics: These can draw attention away from you.
Tops: one plain top in white and second in black (t-shirt, blouse, or tank)—whatever feels most you and allows you to move freely.
Bottoms: Stick with black pants or trousers. These won’t show much, but they help keep the look clean and timeless.
Hair: Freshly washed and natural is best. No need for styling unless it feels important to you.
Makeup: None required. However, since the eyes are a focal point in these portraits, a light touch of mascara can bring subtle definition if you're comfortable with it.
Manicure: Hands often feature in the frame, so please come with clean, well-kept nails. Neutral polish or bare is ideal.
Pedicure: No need to worry—your feet won’t be in the shot unless it is your favourite body part. Then we will capture few shots.
2. Hair and Makeup
3. Jewellery
No jewellery is preferred to keep the image distraction-free.
However, if there’s a piece with personal meaning, you’re welcome to wear it. We’ll make sure it fits the mood and message of your portrait.
Weather and water
Sessions take place outdoors, so please check the forecast and dress in layers if needed.
We may explore areas near water, so bring a towel and change of clothes just in case you get wet.
IMPORTANT! Please avoid alcohol for a few days before the session and prioritise good sleep—this helps reduce puffiness and tiredness in the face.
If you'd like, I will do full skin retouching to gently remove blemishes, dark circles, or other skin imperfections. My goal is to honour your natural beauty—refined and elevated like a piece of art!
